It is 10 cents extra per text to send and recieve on a basic $40 a month Verizon phone. If you buy the $30 or larger Tracfone cards and have DMFL you will be 3.3 cents or less per text.

It really does not work for everyone. If you want to talk a lot you will spend a lot of money. If you want to message people once in a while it is great.

While I do enjoy having the promo codes, I still hate a Tracfone.. texting is EXPENSIVE on a TF.

I LOVE my Tracfone!

I dumped my AT&T phone and got out of my cellphone contract when the company changed its terms. (Did you know that if they do that, it voids the contract? They don’t tell you that, but I saw it on the Consumerist site and it worked! No termination fee too. Haha.)

Anyway, I got a prepaid Tracfone and I haven’t ever had a problem with it. I wouldn’t know about the customer service because I never had a reason to call them.

But the best thing about this is that there aren’t any bills and I know what my costs are because I pay upfront for my calls. It’s great!

I have been using TracFone since my first day of College. I either made the direct call home – are I used my TracFone minutes to call a female to comfort me. Regardless of my journey, my TracFone always gave me the edge I needed with my damn minutes where all gone – but thank God for the voicemail. Actually, I enjoy TracFone – because it gives me a voicemail even when I do not have minutes…
