I did explain you had to spend the money to get the rate, I was breaking it down so people can compare it to the Verizon or AT&T rates of $45 to $100 per month.

As a 10 year tracfone user. I consider your statements "will only cost 6.6 cents each plus your per month price is below $17 monthly." on the $200 card a bit miss leading. Should that really be an "or" at 6.6 cents a minute and $17amonth it's a $400 card. Sorry it just bugged me. Keep up the good work, for low minute users tracfone is indeed the best option.

Aha!! I hear what you say about Net10 which I'm on, but what about the 300 free minutes you get when you buy the phone? That little bonus more than compensates for the cost of buying the phone.

Excellent post!

For me, prepaid rules. I did a bit of research and discovered NET10 was the best for my purposes. I don’t use a lot of minutes — maybe 200 or so a month — and I’m not a mad texter or websurfer either, but 10¢ a minute for calls and 3¢ for texts is crazy good. And no fees per day or other bs.

I got a very nice Samsung phone with a slide-out qwerty keyboard and no one knows it’s prepaid. Costs me a big $30 a month for all my stuff.

This is what I do for $ 0.05 a minute. It requires a bit more work/thinking than the average cell plan but for five cents a minute with no contract it is worth it; for me at least. So this is how it works: net10 has deals every once in a while for there LG300 refurbished phone where they give you a 300 minute/60 day service card with the phone. Note, that whenever you activate/upgrade a net10 phone they also give you 300min and 60 days of service. Thus if you buy a phone while this deal is on, you get 600 min for 120 days. ($0.05/min). So what I did when i first conceived this was I bought 2 phones. Then a few months later I bought another one (not because I needed it, but because someday in the future when the minutes ran out, I wanted to make sure I got the .05/min. deal. The downside to this is that you have to "upgrade" your phone.(switch your service to one of the other phones you bought) This requires you to re-enter in your contacts manually. So that's about it. I also use a google voice number and give that # out to people which routes the calls to my net10 phone. So, for .05/min you have to catch net10 when they have deals that include a minute/service card with the phone. So when those deals do open up, I stock up on phones.
